A major Employee Benefits Administration company required support with the maintenance and enhancements of their legacy system developed in Clipper environment. Over the years, clipper applications which were originally written 5-10  years ago were modified by several individuals and new clipper applications were added  resulting in overall system performance degradation.

To resolve current maintenance issues, improve performance, and extend life of the clipper legacy system, PREMIER was awarded a project to meet the objective of maintenance issues resolution and containment, cost reduction, and performance improvement. PREMIER using its proven onsite/offshore global delivery business model, has been successful in meeting the above objective and providing the required cost-effectiveness in managing on-going maintenance issues, new application enhancements and development.

Leveraging its strategic alliance relationship with DONNAY Software Designs, PREMIER also demonstrated to its client a very cost-effective migration path for the Clipper legacy applications to Web or GUI based applications with minimum associated risks. In this project, PREMIER has developed a strong knowledge base in Employee Benefits Administration (COBRA), and Web-enablement of legacy applications such as Clipper, dBase, Foxpro, and Xbase.
